So if you're a GE shopper - I would recommend bookmarking this page and checking her out every Thursday morning.  Enjoy!

Cooking Up Early Detection (Giant Eagle/PG Rebate)

If you haven't checked out the most recent GE deals - click here.   But hand-in-hand with this deal - I should have told you about this one.

Purchase $25 dollars in participating P&G products (in ONE shopping trip) and submit the form for a FREE pink kitchenware set from Good Cook's Hope. This is only good at Giant Eagle and after you purchase the items - the form will print automatically for you.

I have tried this a couple different ways and it will ONLY print if you purchase $25 dollars worth of products.  The following products are included - Align, Always, Aussie, Bounce, Bounty, Braun, Camary, Cascade, Charmin, Cheer, Clairol, Clearblue Easy, Cover Girl, Crest, Dawn, Downy, Dreft, Duracell, Era, Eukanuba, Febreze, Fixodent, Gain, Gillette, Gleem, Glide, Head & Shoulders, Herbal Essences, Hydrience, Iams, Ivory, Joy, Luvs, Metamucil, Mr. Clean, Natural Instincts, Nice & Easy, Olay, Old Spice, Oral B, Pampers, Pantene, Pepto Bismol, Prilosec OTC, Pringles, Puffs, PUR, Safeguard, Scope, Secret, Swiffer, Tampax, Tide, Vicks, Zest.

So you could technically buy $25 worth of products on October 7th, receive a FREE kitchenware set, and an extra .20cents in fuel perks.  Sounds like a good deal to me!

Giant Eagle Deals (10/7)

Earn a 20cent fuelperk bonus when you spend $20 at Giant Eagle on October 7th.

Breyers YoCrunch 100 Calorie, Disney or Fruit Parfait Yogurt Cups 3/$6.  If you had some .75 cent coupons that would make then only .50 cents apiece – for a 4 pack!!!!

Pillsbury Ready to Bake Cookies, Sweet Moments or Pie Crust 4/$10 and receive $3.50 off a gallon of milk.  Any coupons would make this an even sweeter deal.

Ragu Pasta Sauce 4/$5 (only 1.25 each).  There was a $1.25/3 in last weeks coupons – only .83 cents a jar!

Giant Eagle Deals (10/4)

I’ve been trying to get these deals wrote up in enough time that everyone can take advantage of them!

Here are a couple great deals that are happening at Giant Eagle until Wednesday night!

If you buy 4 of the following products – Betty Crocker Muffin Pouch ($2), BC Brownie Pouch ($2), BC Cookie Pouch ($2), Gold Medal 5lb Flour ($1.99 – this is a great price as Whole Wheat is included!!!!) you’ll receive a FREE Wilton Pan (9x13 or medium cookie sheet – valued $5.49).

If you have any coupons for the above items this could make a really great deal.  Even without coupons it’s a great deal on the WW flour.

The other great deal this week is the Meow Mix Cat food bowls on sale for 2/$1.  I had a bunch of $1/2 coupons – so that equals FREE.  Plus if you buy 6 then you get a $1 cat off your next order (OYNO).  So basically it’s a $1 money-maker.

I have to note that GE was stocked on the Wilton pans this morning when I was in there.  Last time they ran this special they were completely out for the following two weeks. I was able to get a rain-check but I noticed this time it’s stated that there are no rain checks allowed.  So I’d get there fast!

another reason to check receipts....

Boy this blog is keeping me busier then I thought it would - and I LOVE it.  I was worried about having enough to write about... turns out that was a silly worry (aren't they all).

Popped into Giant Eagle again this morning before work and picked up a ton of fresh veggies, and a couple diapers that were on sale.  I grabbed two cans of artichokes and saw the price - $2.29.  Though eh - but not making it up to Aldi's anytime soon.  And went on my way.  As we were heading over to work I quickly scanned my receipt and saw $3.49... WHAT?  Of course 2nd guessed myself the entire morning - at lunch we ran to Rite-aid (next post coming!) and then I quickly ran back in to GE.   Went back myself to be sure that I had the right can and make sure something wasn't misplaced.  Nope - it said $2.29 on the sticker.

So back up to the service desk.  Did you know if you buy two items at GE and they ring up more expensive then the posted price you get the first item free and the 2nd item is price adjusted.  How cool is that.  I was worried about spending $2.29 on a can and God gave me two for $2.29.  I love Him!

I know I mentioned yesterday about going to the service desk on the same visit but today it wasn't possible.  Guess I proved myself wrong!

*update*  Just was looking over my receipt... again - cause I like to do that. And realized I made a mistake.  There is a deal running right now - buy 4 flours for $1.99 and receive a FREE 9x13 baking pan.  For some reason I thought it said 5... so I bought 5 flours instead of 4.  *fail*

Check your receipts

One tip for all you money-saving moms (and dads) out there.  Be sure to always check your receipt, keeping a running tally in your mind of how much your total should be after coupons and instant deductions.

Stopped in at Giant Eagle this morning to stock up on a couple items that were on sale. One of them was the Cheerios deal - buy 5/$15, receive an instant $5 bucks off.  Plus I had $5 worth of coupons.

Be sure to pay attention to signs.

Turns out - every single variety of cheerios was included in this deal .... except Honey Nut (annoying).  Seriously, every variety except that one.

As my order was ringing up I never saw the $5 be deducted off.  As soon as the receipt was handed to me I scanned it quickly and realized that the HN Cheerios were not on sale and not included in the deal.

Thankfully the manager was super helpful and very accommodating to me.   You will get the best results if you immediately go to the service desk.  I'm not sure the transaction would have been as easily to fix had I left and came back later.

It sure pays to pay attention to details.

A summary of my order from today:
1 reusable bag - Free (from card purchased for a fundraiser)
5 Yoplait Delights - $1 ( 5 .50 cent coupons)
2 Hummus - B1G1 - 3.78 for both
1 Rotini - .67 ($1 coupon)
2 Yoplait Plus - $1 (2 .50 cent coupons)
1 Large vanilla yogurt (for our smoothies - more on that later) - 2.50
3 regular, 2 multi-grain cheerios ($5 instant deduction, $5 in coupons) - $5 for 5 boxes!

Save $17 in coupons today, $7.73 in weekly specials, used a $3 Catalina coupon.  Total 17.99 for all of that!

Whew. I'm ready for a nap.
