Pondering Thoughts

Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Proverbs 31:28

What exactly does that mean? What does this woman need to do so that her children call her blessed and her husband praises her?

Why did I start this blog?

Where do I want to be in 3, 6, 9, 12 months?

What am I doing for God each day?

Is God pleased with me and my decisions? Are my decisions mine or are they based on God's word?   How do I know what the answer is to that?

So many questions...so few answers. *sigh*

I've talked about thsi book - Beautiful in God's Eyes: The Treasures of the Proverbs 31 Woman (George, Elizabeth (Insp)).  It was the whole reason for me starting this blog - but have I continued in what I really started out to do - and if I have - is it what God would want me to do? Yes I started the blog as a hopes of supplementing my income, but I also wanted to glorify God. I started it to share deals, specials, sales, money saving tips, but I also wanted to share Jesus. Where do I want to go from here?

Below is the list of topics covered in this book - you'll see why I was overwhelmed and had such a hard time picking the one verse to carry me through:

The Treasures:
Her Character (Prov 31:10)
Her Value (31:10)
Her Loyalty (31:11)
Her Contribution (31:11)
Her Mission (31:12)
Her Heart (31:13)
Her Provision (31:14)
Her Discipline (31:15)
Her Vision (31:16)
Her Work (31:17)
Her Confidence (31:18)
Her Diligence (31:19)
Her Mercy (31:20)
Her Preparation (31:21)
Her Handiwork (31:22)
Her Husband (31:23)
Her Industry (31:24)
Her Clothing (31:25)
Her Words (31:26)
Her Management (31:27)
Her Family (31:28)
Her Praise (31:29)
Her Faith (31:30)
Her Reward (31:31)

whew. That was alot huh. So where do I want to go from here. I'm not exactly sure. I enjoy sharing deals and ways to save money - but why am I sharing them and what is my intended goal?  Would I like the Lord to bless me in monetary means - of course - who wouldn't? It should would make some things easier to decide (baby #3 anyone????).   But if He doesn't that's ok, if I only have 14 followers for the next 10 years - I don't want the next 10 years to be wasted and realize that I never once encouraged you and helped you along the way so that:

Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Proverbs 31:28

  1. I know what you mean Jess. I wrestle with this one too. Somedays I wonder if I should just close my blog. Is it taking too much time? Am I making a difference? Is it really worth all the work? I still don't know.

Listen to Him. The answers will come.

  2. Jessica,
I found your blog and have been reading it with a smile! I understand how long a blog takes. I worked on two different blogs for a year and finally decided to stop blogging. I realized for me, it was taking away far too much family time. I have four small children under the age of 7. I know it can be a hard decision but you should really only write about what makes you smile. There are thousands of couponing/deal sites but not many blogs that share the love of Jesus. You should only write when you are inspired, I am sure all 15 of us will be happy to read about real life. Take Care, good luck!
