oh Martin's.  I try to start getting my blog going somewhere and two weeks in a row you hand out awful fuel perks deals.  really?

For some reason our particular Martin's deal this week is buy 7 items and receive 100 extra reward points ($6 value wyb 30 gallons).  Not cool at all.

Martin's Deals - Week of 10/6

Well last week they had great deals. And I think purposely they don't have great gas deals this week because the points run out on the 12th.  So if you don't pay attention to your slip, only buy the weeks that gas deals are going on then you would accidentally let all your points expire and lose all that free gas!

Yes maybe I look too far into it but it's my thoughts. :)

So I thought I would share a couple other tidbits of information with you about Martin's and couponing.

Unlike Giant Eagle, Martin's gas points expire at a set time period, if you would earn $4.00 in gas on October 11th, they would still expire on the 12th. The next cycle will start October 13th. Giant Eagle's is on a rolling cycle and makes it much easier to not lose gas perks.

Martin's will only double one 'like' coupon, so if you check out with two 'like' coupons then only the first one will double, and the 2nd one will be at face value.  This is why I normally have multiple orders at Martin's. Annoying, yes but you can normally work around it. 

'wyb' - means 'When You Buy'

Instant off - means when you buy a certain amount you instantly receive X dollars off - this is normally a store promotion and you need no coupons to take advantage of this.

$X off wyb $X - such as $5 off when you buy $25 dollars worth of stuff.  At Martin's this is almost always AFTER coupons. So you have to figure that into the amount when you are calculating your totals.

FREE Mrs. T’s Pierogies (Martins deals 10/4)

This is a great deal for those who are able to tolerate Martins right now.  But be prepared to spend an extra 15-20 minutes trying to find the products you need - that place is a disaster right now!

In the Martin's ad this week was Dollar Doublers!!!  It's been awhile since the last time they were offered.

Pierogies are on sale for $2 and if you go here $1/1 Mrs. T’s Pierogies (IE) Printable (FF) or $1/3 Mrs. T’s Pierogies to score them FREE or close to free after doubler!

I also have been carrying around coupons for Mt. Olive products but can never find them.  Stumbled up them by accident (was in the wrong aisle) and found them for $1.89 a piece.  Only .89cents for a jar of pickles. Not too bad.

Never throw coupons away - just hand on to them even if you don't think you are going to use them - you never know what good deal you may find.  And even if it's items that you don't or can't use.  There is always someone in need around you.  Maybe a friend, or a family going through rough times.  The food banks are always accepting donations - I've even been able to donate excess salad dressings and condiments for fundraising dinners.   Keep your mind open to the possibilities of what to do with FREE items!
